From Traditional To Modern Calligraphy
25. September – 24. October 2021 l WBB GALLERY l Zürich l Wed to Fro 2 to 6 p.m. l Sat 1 to 5 p.m. l Invitation
The famous Japanese calligrapher Souun Takeda is not only a star in his homeland. The power of his paintings combined with his Zen-like philosophical approach touch people worldwide.
With more than 140,000 followers on social media, Souun-san has become an iconic cultural ambassador, connecting East and West through art. Although his works of art root in traditional Kanji calligraphy, they are modern in many ways and vibrate with positive energy. Some of his calligraphs are minimalistic and meditative, relying on traditionally hand-crafted rice paper and black ink solely, others are highly colorful and expressive, reminding of action painting.
After numerous exhibitions and live events in Japan and in the USA, WBB GALLERY is proud to welcome Souun-san for his first exhibition in Switzerland*, staging both traditional and modern works of art. Visit us in the old town of Zurich at Trittligasse and enjoy a true calligraphy master and modern artist.
We look forward to this very special event in Zurich.

* Please note that, parallel to the Zurich exhibition, selected works by Souun Takeda will also be shown at VOLTA BASEL from September 20 to 26 during the ART BASEL fair.
